New Additions
These projects typically include adding a masonry structure to an existing building. Careful planning takes place with the assistance of a team of highly skilled engineers, architects and zoning attorneys to ensure that the new structure complies with the local building and zoning ordinances. Once the plan is approved by the authorities, A team of highly skilled contractors start with the demolition of any existing old structures to make way for the excavating team to dig out the basements and footings. Once that is complete, various teams, including Masons, framers, HVAC technicians and plumbers come in to start installing systems in place. -
Fire Restoration
As soon as the emergency call by the fire department came in, our team was on site to follow the direction of the authorities and assist tenants that were effected by the fire. Once the site was declared safe, we set up an action plan to ensure that the building will be back in service without any delays. Insurance assessors, Engineers and various other investigations take place. Special care was taken to properly restore the property to its original state. -
Briar Offices
This is a mixed use building from the late 19th Century, was in more recent decades the victim of various ill-conceived attempts at remodeling. A garage addition and another addition in a previous yard were attached to the building sometime in the distant past. In addition, ill-fitted replacement windows with air conditioning slots above them created a building that was mismatched and disharmonious. Over the years these changes subverted the intent of the original architect's design resulting in a homely street presence. Culminating this year, Chicago Apartment Place, Inc. in the last two years has completed a restoration of the exterior of the building using historic paint colors, moldings and fenestrations to unify the later additions to the building through an exterior restoration that ties all sections of the building together. In addition, new interior individual offices create small business incubator spaces and ADA accessibility.
